Anxious mothers call their children home from play, as thunder begins to clap on the horizon. If you listen more closely, however, noises stranger still can be heard echoing from the neighbouring forest. Under the watchful eye of a looming monastery, silhouetted figures skip from doorway to doorway. Those who can read the signs know there is...‍ ‍Trouble Brewing.

Blood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by a Storyteller who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. During the day phase, players socialise openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. At night, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief… or kill. Use all your powers of deduction and deception to survive this game of murder and mystery!

This event is designed as a perfect introduction to Blood on the Clocktower for new and less experienced players, although everyone is welcome! Our expert Storytellers will take you through the rules of the game beforehand and answer any questions as you play. Book your place below to get involved.

Two-hundred and seventy-three years before we killed the King…
Two-hundred and twenty-nine years before the Gunpowder Plot…
Five years before the Peasants’ Revolt…
In 1376, they hanged one of us at Gallows Corner

Set in medieval England in the year 1376, this is a country of massive social injustice: the serfs work the land while the gentry are born into a life of luxury at others' expense. You've survived plague and endured hardship, but no more! In five years the peasants will boil over into open revolt, but for now we have to fuel the fire, chip away at the oppressive ruling class, spread the word and unite!

In Gallows Corner you will play as the people born at the bottom of the ladder, with plans to destroy every rung from the bottom to the very top. Build a network of like-minded people to spread your influence. Plan acts of rebellion to increase your notoriety and reduce the control of the ruling classes. England will be rebuilt, but first it must be razed clean. It will be dangerous work, but we're on the side of righteousness, we're mad as Hell, and we're not going to take it anymore!

Content Warning: This game may contain themes including but not limited to: Social Injustice; Violence; Pillaging; Fire; Cursing; Corporal Punishment.

This ticket entitles you to attend the Gallows Corner roleplaying game on the following dates from 6pm until 10pm

• Thursday the 8th of October

• Thursday the 15th of October

• Thursday the 22nd of October

• Thursday the 29th of October

Beyond the town borders, where the circus tents meet the ancient, majestic ruins, dark and clandestine forces are assembling. Whether it is the howl of ravenous wolves or the secret whispers of a hidden cult, a shadow now falls over the revelers of Ravenswood Bluff. Deep in the underground caves and the bowels of the forest, the plot for the town’s downfall is reaching its peak.

Tonight, the time is ripe for the unexpected, for there is a Bad Moon Rising so you can expect plenty of Sects and Violets.

The night is dark, Halloween approaches, and in your small and sleepy town, a demon is on the loose… wait no… why is there so much glowing red smoke? No, it cannot be! THREE demons on the loose!? It looks like you’re gonna need all the help you can get!

This All Hallows Eve we’re boarding up the windows and barricading the entrance for a very special night at The Treehouse. We are thrilled to present an evening of devilish bluffing and social deduction, as we celebrate Halloween in true spooky style with our BIGGEST EVER evening of Blood on the Clocktower!

About the game…

For the as-yet-uninitiated, Blood on the Clocktower is a hidden role game for up to 15 players, usually lasting around an hour and a half to two hours. At the start of the game, players are assigned a secret role, putting them on either the good or evil team and giving them certain special powers. The game is overseen by a Storyteller, who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal for the evil team is to kill off the good townsfolk during the night time phase of the game until the surviving players are outnumbered by demons. The good team need to identify and execute the demon before this happens.

Aspects of the game will be familiar to those who’ve played Werewolf or Mafia, but Clocktower is grander in scale and, crucially, removes the issue of player elimination, since dead players can still contribute to the proceedings as ghosts.

About the event…

With the popularity of Blood on the Clocktower at a record high, we’re very excited to be taking over the entire Treehouse for our Halloween Clocktower event this year. This will allow us to to run three games simultaneously, while still leaving plenty of space for whispering in corners as you plan, plot and scheme with your (supposed!) teammates.

As well as being grander in scale, this special event will have longer run-time than any Clocktower event we’ve hosted before, with the option to stay until midnight for those who wish. We hope this will give everyone the opportunity to play three full games over the course of the evening, although the final game is entirely optional for those who prefer an earlier night.

The Treehouse bar will be open and serving drinks and nibbles until 11.30pm, with our kitchen open as usual until 9pm, so you can eat and drink whatever you fancy from our menu while you play.

Halloween fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory. We’ll be offering a prize for the best costume, as well as a free drink for anyone who brings a carved pumpkin to add to the décor (you can take it home again at the end of the night if you want!).

When booking your place, please select the ticket type that best reflects your level of Blood on the Clocktower experience. We’ll be running beginner-friendly games throughout the evening, alongside more fiendish scripts for Clocktower veterans. Experienced players are welcome to book beginner tickets if they’d prefer a simpler game, but we wouldn’t recommend the advanced games for new players.

UPDATE: Due to popular demand, we’ve now added an ‘intermediate player’ option as well as ‘beginner’ and ‘experienced’. The complexity of the intermediate games will be similar to our regular ‘Trouble Brewing Plus’ events. We’re aware that there might be current holders of beginner/ experienced tickets who might prefer the intermediate option. We’ll be in touch with all ticket holders by email before the event to check everyone’s preferences.

This ticket entitles you to attend Treehouse of Horrors: a Halloween Blood on the Clocktower Extravaganza at The Treehouse from 6pm until midnight on Saturday 31st October 2026.
